Hello, I'm the founder of Doodlepad. When I first started homeschooling my own children, I felt a familiar mix of excitement and overwhelm. I wanted a simple way to organize our days, to make sure we were covering what we needed to, but also to leave room for curiosity and joy. I looked for a tool that felt calm and supportive, but I couldn't find exactly what I needed. So, I decided to build it.

That first version of Doodlepad helped many families, but over time, I heard a consistent theme in your feedback. You wanted something more integrated—a single place that connected your plans to the resources you use every day. You wanted support for your local curriculum, but also the freedom to explore topics beyond the basics. You told me what was working and what wasn't, and I listened. It became clear that to truly serve you, we couldn't just add more features. We needed to start over, and build the tool you were asking for from the ground up.

Meet the New Doodlepad

After many months of work, I'm so happy to share the new Doodlepad with you. It’s been rebuilt from scratch to be the calm, organized, and helpful partner I always wished I had. It’s designed to bring all the core pieces of your homeschool planning into one place.

Learning Plans for Your Family

At the heart of Doodlepad are learning plans that follow the curriculum where you live. Whether you're following state standards in the US, provincial guidelines in Canada, or the national curriculum in the UK or Australia, Doodlepad helps you build a framework for your year. You can see the learning expectations for your child’s grade level and use them as a guide, ensuring you're on track without feeling restricted.

Printable and Online Practice

We know that learning happens in different ways. That's why Doodlepad includes a library of printable resources, like learning posters for your walls and practice worksheets for hands-on activities. For those times when you need a quick, independent activity, your child can also complete practice exercises online, with their progress automatically noted in your plan.

Beyond School Subjects

Some of the most important lessons we teach aren't part of a standard curriculum. We created a special category of subjects called Beyond School to help you guide your children in essential life skills. You'll find topics like financial literacy, coding, health and wellness, life skills, and civics, with resources to help you start those important conversations.

Simple Progress Tracking

Keeping records is a necessary part of homeschooling, but it shouldn't take over your day. Doodlepad helps you track what you've completed with a simple check. You can easily see what you've covered, what's coming up next, and generate simple reports when you need them. It's about giving you peace of mind with minimal effort.

An Invitation to Our Founding Families

We’re building Doodlepad for you, and we would love to build it with you. As we put the finishing touches on this new version, we are looking for a small group of homeschooling parents to become our Founding Families. This is a chance to partner with us, to share your experience, and to help shape the future of Doodlepad.

As a Founding Family, you would get early access to the new platform. Your role would be to use it with your children and share your honest feedback. What do you love? What's confusing? What would make it even more helpful for your family? Your insights will be essential as we refine the tool before sharing it with the wider community.

In exchange for your time and thoughts, you will receive a complimentary one-year subscription to Doodlepad Plus. More importantly, you will be a core part of building a resource designed to support and encourage homeschooling families everywhere.

If this partnership sounds like something you'd enjoy, I would be so grateful if you would consider applying. We are looking for families with children in the K-6 grade range from the United States, Canada, Australia, and the United Kingdom.

You can apply to be a Founding Family here.

Thank you for being part of this journey and for trusting us to be a small part of your homeschooling life. We are excited about this new chapter and hope to build it together with you.
